I am-in-love with Lourdes. Who is Lourdes you ask? She is one of my new fabulous friends. She is a little more than 10 years older than me, but the age difference doesn't phase us at all. We enjoy the same things in life: family, food, and red wine. We could sit together all day drinking wine and sharing our life experiences, talking about books we've read, movies we've seen, and things we love and never get sick of each other. Seriously, what more could you ask for in life?
I forgot to mention that we work together at Extraordinary Desserts. We started talking a little at work and just clicked, instantly. I was totally intrigued by her mysteriousness and exotic-ness. After working together a couple of months, she invited me over to her house for dinner. We settled on a Thursday night but then she called me that morning and wanted to do lunch instead. She cooked a fabulous fish & veggies lunch (two bottles on wine later, Joseph got off work and joined us and ended up having dinner together too and not leaving until almost midnight!)
We really opened up to each other quickly. She is a very old soul. You just gives off this calming, nurturing vibe. Her outfit that day was just a perfect depiction of who she was. Wearing organic looking sandals, a long bohemian dress, a j.crew cardigan, and her up wrapped in a scarf. And her accessories, to die for. No name brand, not necessarily expensive, but just things that mean a lot to her. That's just who she is. I didn't get a chance to take a picture together but Joseph took this one and in all honesty, it's probably the best way to introduce you to her for the first time. You can't see her face or anything about her, but that's exactly how I felt about her the first time we met.
